Just got the word from Kings Dominion. They have officially confirmed that they will be removing HyperSonic XLC from the park. Dismantling will start in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more offseason coverage.

So long Hypersuckit!

Apparently still for sale too. So, they must have plans for the area where the coaster is. Otherwise I think they'd just leave it until someone bought it. Just like Demon Drop. It's been for sale since 2005.

At this time we only know there plans are to remove it. Dont know about the sale of the ride or if it has been sold. Only that its not there for this season.

Despite the recent roughness the ride created in the past few seasons, I enjoyed the ride a lot. I will miss it actually. But as is life, things change and we must move on. Personally I hope they don't add that coaster from Geauga Lake or any other ride for that matter. Leave the area alone.

The first Thrill Holder blog will discuss how back in the year 2000, my interest and curiosity for a new ride called HyperSonic XLC got me to discovery the online enthusiast community for the first time. This ride single handily put in motion my transformation from average parkgoer into Coaster Geek!

It will be sad to see this ride go, just like any other ride I've ever ridden. Hopefully they'll put something that will stay smoother a little longer there, that is, if they decide to replace it with another coaster. I hope to see a podcast on this. :]

Hmm people are wondering if there will be any XLC updates while we are doing some of our Dominator shoots? All I can say is, I guess we will just have to wait and see. Wink

I have to say that I am really disapointed this is being removed. I had plans to go in August last year, but my Dad passed away 2 weeks prior & had to cancel the trip. Was planning to get there this year but now that this is leaving, will probably skip it. This was one coaster that I always wanted to ride, hope it goes to another park so maybe I'll still get to ride it.

Just talked with KD about getting down there. We are hoping that next week we will have an update but that is not for sure yet.

Did get an update as to how the steel will go up once the man incharge of the steel gets there on Monday.

They will start with all the station work and track in the station. Then the move to transfer track and train storage area.

Once that part is complete XLC will start coming down, and should not take to long to be takin out of the park.

Around the same time that is finnished the lift hill will start going up. They are hoping to start with the lift hill in mid Feb.
